Beginning Shamanic Journeying: Partnering with Compassionate Helping Spirits
Carole Meade, LMHC, Shamanic Practitioner for 20 years. Shamanism is an ancient and powerful practice that can help us thrive during these challenging and changing times. In our modern-day technological world we have been led to believe that humans are at the summit of creation. It would be more realistic if we could see ourselves as allies of the natural world rather then as its rulers. By choosing to work in harmony with the natural world - as once all living things did - we could redress this imbalance. Shamanism teaches there are doorways into other realms of reality where helping spirits reside who can share guidance, insight and healing for the world in which we live. It reminds us our true status is that we are part of the web of all things. During this class you will learn how to complete a shamanic journey. Please bring a drum or rattle, if you have one. Wear comfortable clothing, warm socks, bring a bandana or other eye covering, a cushion or blanket to lie on and a pen and notebook to record your journeys. 9:00 to 5:00. Cost $90. This includes a copy of Shamanic Journeying, A Beginners’s Guide by Sandra Ingerman. 7 CEUs To register contact: Carole Meade cedarwmn@aol.com, 515-279-9625, www.cedarwoman.net.

Raindrop Therapy
Raindrop technique is a therapeutic application of essential oils dropped like raindrops down the length of the spine and applied to these soles of the feet. A series of massage techniques to help encourage spinal alignment are utilized. As well, Vita-Flex, a reflexology-like technique based on traditional Tibetan medicine, is applied to the feet to assist in bringing internal organ system balance. Raindrop technique has been found to be beneficial in restoring balance and well-being in life by: balancing electrical frequencies; relaxation and invigoration; immune system support; helping to align the spine; releasing emotions stuck in the physical body. During this class, you will learn a foundation of essential oil do's and don't's to ensure a safe Raindrop Technique practice. After observing a “teaching” raindrop, class participants will each give and receive a raindrop. Tips on how to make Raindrop Technique thrive in your massage practice will also be included. This course is open to massage therapists. You will receive 7 credit hours toward continuing education. Investment: $149. This class is taught by Erica Miller. The class is held at East-West School 2771 Muscatine Ave, Iowa City, from 9 am -5 pm.
